The Kansas transportation system is made up of roads AND bridges AND so much more. A modern transportation system moves people AND freight AND technology. Enabling movement drives our economy forward. The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) is committed to keeping Kansans AND the economy moving. With your help, the Eisenhower Legacy Transportation Program (IKE) is shaping the future of transportation in Kansas. Transportation AND everything that depends on it.
Governor Laura Kelly, the Kansas State Legislature, and KDOT are committed to delivering the IKE program with full accountability and transparency. We are also committed to completing the remaining T-WORKS projects, as well as preserving, expanding and modernizing our state’s system. Additional measures are included on this website to track how tax-dollars are spent on projects and program initiatives. Follow along as we work to complete projects on time and on budget.
IKE is a flexible, responsive rolling program focused on right-sized, practical transportation improvements throughout the entire state. KDOT is committed by the IKE legislation to invest at least $8 million in each county. Our goals are to leverage partnerships to foster economic growth, provide more transportation options to Kansans, and to be a strong problem solving partner to communities by creating holistic transportation solutions.

Everyone plays a pivotal role in shaping IKE. The local consult process gives you a voice. Kansans’ needs and ideas are critical to the success of this program. IKE addresses highways, bridges, public transit, aviation, short-line rail and bike/pedestrian needs across our great state.
Named in honor of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, the IKE program builds on Kansas’ history of adopting 10-year infrastructure programs. IKE builds upon those programs, and this version is even better. IKE will be more efficient, more transparent, and more accountable to the people of Kansas than previous transportation programs.
