KDOT hosted an open house on final design plans for expansion of K-68 in Miami County on Tuesday, September 10 at Louisburg Middle School (505 E Amity St). Final designs were be presented for public review and comment. This was a public open house – attendees could come and go to review information and visit with project staff. There was be no formal presentation.

Project Description

The project expands K-68 to four lanes between U.S. 169 and Spring Valley Road, a distance of 6.68 miles. This expansion project is part of the Eisenhower Legacy Transportation Program (IKE) for KDOT District 4 (Southeast Kansas). Construction is expected to start in early 2025. 

Previous K-68 improvements included widening the highway to a four-lane expressway between U.S. 69 and Spring Valley Road and constructing turn lanes and frontage roads along the corridor.
