Jan. 18 Open House for U.S. 50 Expansion Dodge City East

KDOT hosted an open house-style public meeting to discuss proposed plans to expand U.S. 50 to four lanes from the east city limits of Dodge City (Avenue P) east to the U.S. 283 East Junction. The meeting was held on Thursday, Jan. 18, at 443 Public Admin Building, 2112 1st Ave., Dodge City, KS 67801. The public was welcome to stop by anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. to view information and speak with project staff. No formal presentations was made.

Nov. 16 Public Meeting for U.S. 50/400 Expansion to Four-Lane Expressway Finney and Gray Counties

KDOT held a public meeting for U.S. 50/400 expansion projects. The meeting was from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16 at the Gray County Recreation Center’s 4H Room (17002 W. Highway 50) in Cimarron. A brief presentation was given at 5:45 p.m. followed by an opportunity to view updated proposed improvements since the Nov. 2022 open house. The projects are nearing completion of the preliminary design phase, focusing on locations where the highway intersects local streets. Intersection improvements to enhance safety will be shared.

Nov. 14 Public Meetings for U.S. 54 Expansion in Seward County

KDOT hosted an open house-style public meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Tues., Nov. 14 at Seward County Community College (1801 N. Kansas Ave.) for the U.S. 54 expansion project from U.S. 83 (the former Six Points intersection) to Tucker Road. Modified design options to reconfigure the former Six Points intersection were shared. The community-preferred options have been advanced to present more detailed information and impacts for public consideration and input. / KDOT organizará una reunión pública informativa el martes 14 de noviembre a las 5:30 p.m. en Seward County Community College (1801 N. June 21 Public Meeting for U.S. 83 Connected Vehicle (CV) Project

The meeting focused on providing information about the U.S. 83 Connected Vehicle Project and outline the project schedule. KDOT and project team staff were on hand to answer questions. Nov. 10 Public Meeting for U.S. 54 Expansion in Seward County and Other Regional Projects

KDOT hosted a community-wide public information and input meeting to discuss Seward County highway projects under construction, changes to access, projects soon to be in construction and those further out on the horizon. The meeting was held on Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Seward County Activity Center in Liberal. A brief presentation began at 4:15 p.m. and again at 5:15 p.m.; KDOT staff was available to answer questions. The public was invited to submit comments online Nov. 10 to Nov. 28.

KDOT hosted a public meeting on intersection improvement near Dodge City on May 17

The public was invited to attend a public meeting for the U.S. 56/U.S. 283/U.S. 400/2nd Avenue intersection improvement project just south of Dodge City on Tuesday, May 17, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Dodge City Public Schools USD 443 Civic Center VIP Room, 2112 1st Avenue, in Dodge City. The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) hosted the event. The meeting allowed attendees to review the proposed intersection improvements, provide input and speak one-on-one with project staff. There were no formal presentation, and attendees could come and go at any time during the meeting. This project is currently in the design phase. Information presented at the meeting has been made available online for those unable to attend. The public was invited to submit comments online beginning May 17 through May 27.

Public Meeting for K-156 Hodgeman County Project hosted by KDOT on October 27

The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) held a public meeting for the K-156 Hodgeman County project on Wednesday, October 27 at the King Center in Jetmore (312 Main Street). The public was invited to attend the open house style meeting anytime between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The meeting provided an opportunity to view exhibits and maps of the proposed improvement, provide input and speak one-on one with project staff.
